About Us
Salina Downtown Inc. was established as a nonprofit merchant’s association in 1975, and was one of the first business improvement districts in Kansas. SDI is governed by a 13 member Board of Directors. Board agendas and minutes can be accessed here. SDI supports small business through several development incentives. The entrepreneurial spirit upon which Salina was founded is still the heartbeat of our independently owned businesses. It is our mission to champion a healthy and vibrant downtown community!
Salina Downtown is a destination location being conveniently located at the crossroads of I-135 and I-70. It is also home to the beautiful 1931 historical Stiefel Theatre, Smoky Hill Museum, the Salina Art Center, The Garage and the Salina Fieldhouse. Salina Downtown is a place where you can not only dine and shop with friends, but gather for historic car cruises, parades and family fun runs. Our pedestrian friendly atmosphere encourages you to explore, experience, and enjoy, what Salina Downtown has to offer!
